Service Coordinator

Job Description

The role as service coordinator will be to assist and maintain our high levels of customer service.

The main tasks on a daily basis will be answering telephone calls , contacting customers, work providers and our team of engineers to organise plan and maintain our present and future work.

The ideal candidate:

  • Enthusiastic with an excellent and understanding telephone manner
  • Continually strive to improve customer service
  • Be able to communicate clearly and confidentiality on the telephone
  • Work well as a member of a team but also under your own initiative
  • IT and typing skills

Main Duties

  • Communicate with customers, clients and engineers to organise engineers work schedules and plan daily routes
  • Prepare and process engineers workload and calls on a daily basis
  • Assist with sourcing and receiving spare parts
  • Answering incoming and making outbound calls
  • General office duties

Job Status:

Part time: 22.5 hours per week (mainly mornings) additional hours will be required to cover holidays and any periods of absence

Domestic Appliance Service Engineer

As a local family firm we pride ourselves on good customer service resulting in customer retention and word of mouth referrals.  Our engineers provide excellent technical services to our customers within our customer’s homes. 

Main Role Requirements

  • Maintaining contact with customers during the day, keeping them up to date with excepted arrival times.

  • Engaging the customer in their home, keeping them informed and updated while repairing, installing or integrating their product.
  • Maintaining contact with the customer service team in the office, ensuring daily developments are recorded via a smart phone.
  • Communicating with the Managing Director any concerns and health and safety issues.
  • Maintaining duty of care for customer and company property.
  • Seeking guidance from the customer service team for issues that directly impact on cost, customer service, or Company policy.  
  • Manage and maintain company property and/or product spares in-line with company best practice.
  • Plan routes to ensure customer service and cost effectiveness

Essential Skills

  • Full, clean UK driving licence

  • Experience in a customer service environment
  • Knowledge and awareness of Electrical or Electronic servicing
  • Experience in White Goods electrical fault finding, testing and repair
  • Ability to work on your own and within a small team                          
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to recognise basic health and safety issues and act accordingly
  • Physically fit to handle products correctly and safely

Desirable Skills

  • High level of customer service skills with the ability to act as an advocate for the Company

  • City & Guilds qualification or equivalent
  • Gas Safe Registered

In return the company provides an attractive salary,  fully equipped van and smart phone.  You will be required to travel to customer’s homes from home and/or the Company premises.
