The Terms and Conditions listed below are for chargeable work direct to a member of the Public, Landlord or any Agent working on their behalf.
We will attempt to carry out any work during our normal working hours 8.00 am to 8.00 pm Monday to Friday unless by prior agreement we say otherwise.
We will agree upon any work we are to carry out. We will then carry it out as soon as it is practically possible, subject to the availability of an engineer.
All labour - we only charge one price and if we have to come back with parts, we don't charge you for any additional time. The price quoted also includes VAT. The fixed labour charge covers the cost of a single engineer only.
A complete and thorough test of the appliance along with a safety check.
Diagnosis of the repair to resolve the fault entered in the "Description of Fault" box on your original quotation form.
The cost of any parts (when required).
Commercial appliances - call us for details.
Domestic appliances installed in commercial premises - call us for details.
Appliances situated on boats.
Food loss or spoilage.
Appliances which differ from the details used to obtain the quote.
Appliances where parts are found to be obsolete.
Any consequential losses, howsoever incurred.
The cost of any additional labour if an appliance is not easily accessible and we are able to make it accessible.
The cost of any additional engineers required in order to make it safe to work on an appliance. Ie when an appliance is of such a weight or size, or in a location a single engineer is unable to remove the appliance safely to carry out the work required.
Installations. In the case of any installation we will only cover a like for like swap. The appliance must already be in the room it is to be installed in and be able to be installed by one person safely. Additional charges will apply if an additional engineer is required. The aperture measurements must be the same and there must be the correct services available. Also an isolation switch / tap must already be present (where applicable) and to current standards. We only connect the appliance up to a pre-existing services. We do not alter any worktops or woodwork.
Refrigerant gases and sundry items are not included in the fixed labour fee.
Refrigeration products such as fridges, freezers, air conditioning units, dehumidifiers and certain tumble dryers require refrigerant gas to operate correctly.
If your appliance requires refrigerant system work we can only undertake this work where the gas type is R600a. We do not carry out refrigerant system work on any other gas type.
Please review the rating plate of your product to determine the gas type.
On completion of your quotation and acceptance of our terms and conditions you will be charged at the agreed fee immediately.
You will receive an email confirmation of your booked appointment along with an invoice. This will contain your booking reference and the date the engineer has been booked to visit.
Our service engineer will call on the agreed date and carry out the repair to your appliance. If any part(s) are required our office will normally order the part(s) once the required authorisation / payment has been made. All parts are required to be paid for upon ordering. Parts can take (on average) anywhere from 3 – 10 working days to arrive depending on suppliers and stock levels.
As soon as we have the parts needed for your repair, we will arrange a further appointment with you, to get them fitted as soon as possible.
It is the case that a small number of manufacturers have parts that are not easily sourced and in some cases these have to be obtained from abroad. This will result in a delay in completing the repair; however, we will endeavour to keep you informed throughout the process.
In some cases parts are classed as special order items. In this instance, once ordered, these parts are non returnable and non refundable.
All repairs will require full and easy access to your appliance (e.g. able to be moved from under a work surface without damaging the surrounding facia or flooring). If your appliance cannot be easily accessed to facilitate the repair we reserve the right to cancel the repair. If the appliance is deemed inaccessible by the engineer and additional engineers are required, a charge for each additional engineer will be applicable at our normal standard rate (not at our web discounted rates).
Parking that gives reasonable access to your property must be available for the engineer. If the parking is permit controlled, it is your responsibility to arrange for the engineer to park free of charge for the duration of his visit.
Repairs to refrigerators, freezers and coolers may require a test period after completion due to the nature of the work which was been undertaken and should not be restocked until they are fully functional. In some cases due to the nature of the fault the appliance may fail again shortly after undertaking a repair.
Should the repair not have been effective than the product must be inspected by an engineer employed by Huby Domestic Appliances Ltd and any parts that have been used must be recovered prior to any request for a refund. In this eventuality, there will be a charge for consumables used as these are not recoverable, also the labour content will not be subject to a refund.
Where a fault is diagnosed by Huby Domestic Appliances and the customer chooses to source their own replacement part(s), we will charge an additional fitting fee of £20+vat (£26). This amount is payable in advance of the return visit. This payment can be made over the phone by contacting Huby Domestic Appliances.
We will not be liable for, nor provide any guarantee whatsoever for such parts supplied by anyone other than Huby Domestic Appliances.
We will not be responsible if the spare part is found to be incorrect, and a further payment would be required for a return visit.
We will not fit items such as cavities, drums and compressors supplied by anyone other than Huby Domestic Appliances.
We reserve the right to refuse to fit any part sourced other than those supplied through Huby Domestic Appliances.
You may change or cancel your appointment date at any time up to 15:00 on the day before the original agreed call out date. If you wish to change or cancel your appointment please call our Customer Services Department on 01482 866660. In this case you will receive a full refund.
If you cancel the fixed price repair at any time after 15:00 on the day before the agreed appointment date we will refund you the original fixed price fee paid less a call out / administration charge of £49.95.
If our approved service engineer cannot gain access to the appliance on the agreed appointment date you will be charged a call out / administration fee of £49.95 with the balance of the fee paid refunded to you.
If we or our approved service engineer has to change or cancel your selected appointment date and any alternative date offered is unacceptable to you we will give you a full refund of the fixed price labour fee paid.
If you wish to cancel whilst your repair is in progress, for example, the engineer has visited once but will need to return to complete the repair, we will refund you the original fixed price labour fee paid less a call out / administration charge of £49.95, provided no parts have been fitted. If parts have been fitted, you will not be eligible for a refund and will need to pay for the parts fitted.

In a few instances the required part(s) may not be readily available from our suppliers and may have extended lead times where they require sourcing from abroad.
If after a period of 6 weeks (or other agreed time if specified by us in writing / email at the point of ordering the parts) the required part(s) is / are still outstanding and the appliance is inoperable either party has the right to cancel the fixed price repair.
In this instance we will refund you the price of any parts which have been paid for but not fitted. This can be arranged by calling our Customer Services Department on 01482 866660.
If it is found that your appliance doesn’t contain R600a gas and the engineer is required to work on the gas system, we will be unable to complete the repair. In this instance there will be no refund see refrigerant gas above.
We reserve the right to cancel a fixed price repair if on evaluation or during the repair:
In these instances you will not be entitled to receive a refund of any labour costs.
The fixed price repair is guaranteed to cover the initial fault for 90 days from the date the repair is completed.
If your appliance fails with the same fault as detailed in your initial repair, we will arrange to send an engineer back at a mutually convenient time at no extra cost. In the event of the fault re-occurring during the guarantee period please call our Customer Services Department on 01482 866660.
If we have arranged for an engineer to re-visit but you subsequently wish to cancel you may do so up to 15:00 on the day before the agreed call out date. If you wish to cancel after this time or during the repair, you will be charged a call out / administration fee of £49.95, which will be chargeable to yourself.
Calls made directly to the engineer to request a re-visit are not covered under this guarantee.
This guarantee does not cover any subsequent unrelated breakdown / fault(s) to the appliance or parts sourced from anywhere other than from Huby Domestic Appliances. If you request an engineer re-visit and an alternative fault is found and you wish to continue with the repair, you will be given the option to purchase an additional repair at the original rate.
The guarantee becomes invalid if the appliance is not used in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, moved within the property or to a new address.
Hubys offer online discount pricing for advance booked appointments. The calls available at these online offer prices are limited and are on a strictly 'first come, first served' basis.
Maximum price savings are based on the cost of booking a First Call Appointment.
Prices quoted on the website are for advance online booking through the website only and have no connection with the prices and time slots offered for telephone bookings
We aim to repair a wide range of kitchen appliances, but the manufacturer, appliance type, model and age will have a major influence on whether we can promptly obtain replacement part(s) and ultimately complete the repair. It should also be noted that once a specific appliance is no longer made the manufacturer will only retain replacement parts for a given period.

We will communicate in English and English Law will apply unless we have agreed otherwise with you.
